Bebe's interpretation
In times of difficulty, when it feels as though we are being swept away by the waves of life, this verse offers a promise of God’s protection and presence. The imagery of passing through waters and rivers speaks to the challenges and trials we face in life—times when we feel like we might be overwhelmed or consumed by our circumstances. But God promises that when we go through such times, He will be with us. The waters will not sweep over us because His presence will protect and guide us through. This verse speaks to the courageous strength that comes from knowing that God is with us in every trial. Even when life feels like it’s pulling us under, God’s promise to be with us ensures that we will not be overcome. This is a reminder that God doesn’t just watch from a distance; He is present, helping us through every difficulty, and providing the courage to endure.
