James 3:16
James 3:16
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Envy and strife create an atmosphere of confusion and disorder, where every evil work can thrive. This verse warns us of the toxic effects of jealousy, which not only damages our inner peace but also disrupts relationships and communities. When envy takes root, it breeds division, conflict, and chaos. The wisdom of this passage calls for caution, urging believers to reject jealousy and embrace peace. Strife fueled by envy can destroy harmony in homes, churches, and workplaces, undermining efforts to live in unity. Instead, wisdom teaches that peace, love, and understanding are the antidotes to the destructive effects of jealousy. By choosing to avoid envy and promoting unity, we allow God’s peace to reign in our hearts and relationships, preventing confusion and evil from taking hold.
