John 12:48
John 12:48
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
Jesus teaches that His words will be the final standard of judgment in the last day. Those who reject Him and His message face eternal consequences. The word of God is not just a moral guideline but the very thing by which all will be judged. This emphasizes the gravity of accepting or rejecting the gospel. Those who deny Christ are not merely rejecting a teacher; they are rejecting the means of salvation. The word of God, as spoken by Christ, is the measure by which we will be judged, and it carries both a promise of eternal life and a warning of judgment. This verse challenges us to examine how we respond to God's word today, as our eternal fate hinges on our acceptance or rejection of Christ's message.
Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Ecclesiastes 3:17
For God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
Jeremiah 17:10
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Ecclesiastes 12:14
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
