Bebe's interpretation
Jesus reminds His disciples that they are not greater than their Master. If the world persecuted Him, they will also persecute His followers. This verse speaks to the cost of discipleship and the reality that following Christ means enduring suffering and rejection. Just as Christ faced opposition for His message, so too will His disciples. This knowledge prepares us to endure with resilience and faith, knowing that persecution is a part of the journey of faith. However, we are not left to endure on our own; Christ Himself walks with us through every trial. Worship, in this context, becomes an act of acceptance, where we embrace the challenges of following Christ, trusting that He is with us and that our suffering is for a greater purpose. We endure knowing that our reward is in heaven and that we share in the glory of Christ’s Kingdom.
