John 6:55
John 6:55
For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.
Jesus’ declaration that His "flesh is real food" and His "blood is real drink" invites us into a deeper understanding of His sacrifice and the spiritual reality it brings. Through His body and blood, He would offer Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. The imagery of food and drink conveys a profound truth: just as physical nourishment is necessary for bodily life, the sacrifice of Jesus is essential for spiritual life. This statement is not just about the physical act of eating and drinking but about partaking in the life-giving work of Jesus through faith. In receiving His body and blood, we are invited into a relationship with Him—one that is sustained through His death, burial, and resurrection. It is a reminder that our spiritual life comes from His sacrifice and that we must continually look to Him for sustenance. This verse teaches us that the life of a believer is sustained by the grace of Jesus and that through His sacrifice, we find forgiveness, nourishment, and eternal life.
Matthew 26:30
When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
John 6:53
Jesus answered, Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
Luke 22:19
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
John 6:54
Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
