John 8:44
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth.
Jesus warned about the deceitful nature of the devil and the danger of allowing his influence into our lives. Those who follow the ways of the devil—deceit, lies, and destruction—reveal a heart that is far from truth. The apostle John also pointed out that the devil is the father of lies, and anyone who embraces his ways is walking in darkness. As Christians, we are called to stand firm in the truth, even when the world around us promotes falsehood and deception. Our spiritual weapons against deception include prayer, the Word of God, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We must guard our hearts and minds from the enemy’s lies and be committed to living in the truth that comes from God.
Proverbs 6:16
These six things doth the Lord hate yea, seven are an abomination unto him A proud look, a lying tongue.
Psalm 120:2
Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue.
Proverbs 19:9
A false witness shall not be unpunished and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
Psalm 31:18
Let the lying lips be put to silence which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
