Luke 24:2
Luke 24:2
And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
When the women came to the tomb, they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. This verse speaks to the unexpected and miraculous nature of the resurrection. The stone, which sealed the tomb, was rolled away not by human hands but by the power of God. The stone that represented death, finality, and separation was no match for the power of the living God. The rolling away of the stone signifies that the barrier between death and life has been removed. Christ’s resurrection opens the way for all who believe in Him to receive eternal life. The stone being rolled away is a powerful symbol of how God overcomes every obstacle that stands between us and His promises. It calls us to have faith that, no matter what seems to hold us back, God has the power to move mountains and make a way where there seems to be no way.
Mark 16:4
And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
Luke 24:5
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
Romans 4:25
He was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Matthew 28:6
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
