Luke 4:36
Luke 4:36
And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! For with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits.
The crowd was astounded by the authority with which Jesus spoke and acted. When He commanded the unclean spirits to leave, they immediately obeyed. This authority was not based on eloquent words or rituals but on the divine power that flowed from Jesus. His words were infused with the power to transform, heal, and free those who were bound. The people recognized that this was not ordinary human authority, but a power that only could come from God. This is a crucial lesson for us today. As believers, we are called to speak with authority, but not our own. When we align our words with God’s will and speak in faith, we operate in the authority of Christ. Just as Jesus demonstrated power over the demonic realm, so too can we, as His followers, exercise that same authority in every area of our lives. This should embolden us to confront challenges in the power of Jesus, knowing that His authority resides in us.
