Mark 10:44
Mark 10:44
Whoever would be first among you must be slave of all.
To be first in God’s Kingdom requires a deep humility that leads to service. Jesus teaches us that if we desire to be the greatest, we must be willing to serve others selflessly. This challenge to worldly views of success is one of the most profound teachings in the Gospels. In the world, to rise to the top often requires asserting one's dominance, but in God’s economy, true greatness comes through humility and servitude. Being a servant to all means putting the needs of others above our own, seeking the good of others with a heart of love, and trusting in God's plan rather than seeking personal gain. This radical way of living is the call of every Christian. It requires a shift in our mindset, a transformation of our heart, and a willingness to trust that God will exalt those who humble themselves. Our worth is not determined by titles or achievements but by our capacity to love and serve others in Christ’s name.
Proverbs 22:4
The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.
James 4:15
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
Proverbs 15:33
The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
Psalms 34:2
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
