Mark 16:4
Mark 16:4
And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
As the women looked inside the tomb, they saw that the stone had indeed been rolled away, and the tomb was empty. The greatness of the stone was not enough to keep Jesus in the grave. This verse is a testament to the strength of God's power over death. The stone, described as very great, was a physical obstacle, but it was nothing compared to the power that raised Jesus from the dead. The empty tomb speaks volumes: it is evidence that death has been defeated and that Jesus is truly alive. The fact that the stone was “very great” emphasizes the miraculous nature of Christ’s resurrection—nothing, not even the most formidable barriers, can stand in the way of God’s will. As believers, we can be confident that no matter how great the obstacles in our lives may seem, God’s power is greater. The resurrection assures us that we serve a God who can break through any barrier.
1 Corinthians 15:20
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1 Corinthians 15:14
And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Luke 24:5
And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
Matthew 28:6
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
