Matthew 11:24
Matthew 11:24
But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
Jesus speaks here of a profound and sobering truth—those who reject His message face a greater judgment than even the notorious cities of Sodom. It highlights the seriousness of God's expectations for how we respond to His revelation. In the day of judgment, it will not matter what we thought of God’s word or how we interpreted it. What will matter is whether we obeyed it. This is a warning to all who hear the gospel yet ignore or dismiss it. God holds each individual accountable, and greater knowledge comes with greater responsibility. This truth calls for self-examination, reminding us to value God's word, accept His grace, and live righteously. In light of this, the urgency of sharing the gospel becomes even clearer—every soul's response to God’s call matters in the eternal scheme of judgment.
John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Matthew 12:36
But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
Amos 5:24
But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
Ecclesiastes 3:17
For God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
