Matthew 15:19
Matthew 15:19
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality.
Jesus teaches that the root of sinful actions lies within the heart, where thoughts and desires are formed. This verse emphasizes that sin is not merely external but begins internally, with thoughts and intentions. Evil thoughts, including those of adultery and immorality, originate in the heart, underscoring the need for inner purity. For believers, this teaching encourages vigilance over one’s thoughts and a commitment to guard the heart. It serves as a reminder that true righteousness involves more than outward actions; it requires a pure and humble heart. By focusing on the state of the heart, believers can prevent sinful actions and cultivate a life that honors God. This verse calls for a life of introspection and surrender to God’s transformative power, acknowledging that He alone can purify the heart and align it with His will. A heart set on God’s ways is a heart free from the grip of evil, reflecting His love and purity in every thought and action.

1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
Proverbs 6:32
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
Proverbs 23:27
For a prostitute is a deep pit; an adulteress is a narrow well.
