Matthew 23:11
Matthew 23:11
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
The true measure of greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in serving others. This verse calls us to embrace servant leadership, where the greatest leaders are those who humble themselves to serve. Leadership in God’s eyes is not about power or influence but about putting others first, showing them love, care, and respect. A servant leader is one who seeks to meet the needs of others, lifting them up and helping them grow. This leadership style reflects the heart of Christ, who came to serve, not to be served. As leaders, we are called to model this humility, choosing to serve rather than seek recognition. Serving others in love leads to true greatness in God’s Kingdom, as it reflects His character and fulfills His command to love one another. When we lead through service, we demonstrate the love of Christ and encourage others to do the same.
Romans 12:8
He who leads, with diligence.
Hebrews 2:8
Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
1 Peter 5:2
Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
Matthew 20:26
Whoever desires to become great among you must be your servant.
