Matthew 4:16
Matthew 4:16
The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
The people sitting in darkness saw a great light—this is a prophecy fulfilled in Christ’s coming. His arrival brought hope and salvation to those who were lost in the shadows of sin. This verse speaks to the power of Christ’s light to change lives. For those who were in despair, who had no hope, the light of Jesus brought new life and new possibilities. This light is available to all who are willing to receive it, regardless of where they have been or what they have done. Just as the people in darkness were given light, we too can experience the hope and transformation that Christ offers. His light is an invitation to move from darkness into His glorious light, leaving behind the struggles and pain of a life without hope.
Matthew 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God.
Ephesians 5:8
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
Colossians 1:13
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.
