Matthew 5:48
Matthew 5:48
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
God calls us to be perfect, just as He is perfect, and this standard of perfection is rooted in His holiness, righteousness, and faith. It is a challenging call, but it is not an unattainable one, for we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to grow into the likeness of Christ. Perfection in the Christian life does not mean flawlessness, but rather a wholehearted pursuit of holiness and righteousness, guided by faith. It is about living in alignment with God’s will, seeking to honor Him in all things. This pursuit of perfection is an act of obedience, where we trust that God’s grace will empower us to grow in holiness. Worship becomes an act of surrender, where we submit ourselves to God’s refining work in our lives, knowing that as we strive for perfection, we are becoming more like Christ. Our faith in God is the foundation of this transformation, and through His grace, we are made perfect in Him.
Job 8:20
Behold, God will not cast away a perfect man, neither will he help the evil doers.
Hebrews 6:1
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God.
Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
2 Timothy 3:17
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
