Matthew 6:22
Matthew 6:22
The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
This verse speaks to the importance of the eye as the "lamp" of the body, providing light and guidance to our whole being. The metaphor of the eye as a lamp suggests that our vision—both physical and spiritual—directly influences our actions, attitudes, and overall well-being. If our eyes are healthy, meaning that our perspective is clear, focused on God, and free from sin, our whole body will be full of light. This light represents God’s presence, truth, and guidance. It means living a life that is aligned with God’s purposes, where we see things as He does and are guided by His wisdom. On the other hand, if our vision is clouded by unhealthy influences, selfish desires, or sin, it affects our whole being, leading to darkness and confusion. This verse encourages us to guard our eyes—both in the literal sense, by being mindful of what we look at, and in the spiritual sense, by ensuring that our perspective is rooted in God’s truth. Let this verse inspire you to seek a healthy vision, to focus on what is true, noble, and pure, and to allow God’s light to fill your whole being. As you do, you will experience the clarity, guidance, and peace that come from living in the light of God’s presence.

Psalm 119:130
The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
Joel 2:28
In the last days, I will pour out my Spirit on all people; your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Proverbs 29:18
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
