Proverbs 10:18
Proverbs 10:18
He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
Hatred and slander, often hidden behind lies, are destructive forces in the lives of those who harbor them. The Bible teaches that hatred stirs up strife, and slander damages the reputation of others. The one who hides such emotions behind deceitful speech is not only harming others but also bringing harm to themselves. The Apostle Paul warns that those who practice hatred, slander, and deception will not inherit the kingdom of God. As followers of Christ, we are called to put away hatred and to speak words that build up rather than tear down. Our words and attitudes should reflect God’s love, forgiveness, and grace. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts, He helps us to overcome bitterness and hatred, replacing them with love and truth.
Proverbs 11:9
An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
John 8:44
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth.
Psalm 55:21
The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
Proverbs 25:18
A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
