Proverbs 11:29
Proverbs 11:29
He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
The consequences of a foolish person’s actions can disrupt and destroy a household. This verse warns against the irresponsibility and folly that can lead to chaos within the home. A person who troubles their own house is likened to someone who will inherit the wind, a metaphor for emptiness and loss. Foolishness, whether it’s a lack of wisdom, poor decision-making, or irresponsibility, brings no lasting good. The fool becomes a servant to the wise of heart, acknowledging that wisdom is ultimately in control. In a family, this could mean that the decisions made out of selfishness or ignorance may lead to a breakdown in relationships, responsibility, and peace. The foolish may experience temporary gain, but it is the wise who are blessed with stability and lasting rewards. This verse calls families to embrace wisdom and responsibility, recognizing that their actions have consequences that affect everyone within the household. Wisdom brings strength, while foolishness leads to weakness and strife.
