Proverbs 11:4
Proverbs 11:4
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Riches, while not inherently evil, are temporary and cannot protect us when it matters most. This verse reminds us that, in the day of wrath, the things we have accumulated will not save us. What matters most is our righteousness, which is a gift from God through faith. Righteousness delivers us from death, not wealth or possessions. This truth redirects our focus from material accumulation to the pursuit of godliness. It encourages us to invest in our relationship with God and seek to live righteous lives, knowing that true security and salvation are found in Him alone. The pursuit of righteousness brings lasting peace and eternal rewards, while the pursuit of riches leaves us with nothing of eternal value. This reminder invites us to examine our priorities and choose to focus on what truly matters—our standing before God.
