Proverbs 12:22
Proverbs 12:22
Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.
The Bible clearly states that "lying lips are an abomination to the Lord" (Proverbs 12:22). This highlights the importance of truthfulness in God's eyes. Lies disrupt the relationship between individuals and with God, because falsehood brings deception and distance. Conversely, those who deal truly—those who uphold truth in their words and actions—bring delight to the Lord. To "deal truly" means to be honest in both speech and behavior, reflecting God's nature of righteousness and integrity. When we align our words with truth, we reflect God's will for us, becoming agents of His righteousness. God values truth because it brings unity and harmony. It fosters trust, and truth is essential for building relationships that honor Him. In a world often filled with deceit, we must stand firm in speaking truth, knowing that this pleases the heart of God. Truth, therefore, is not just about honesty in words, but a reflection of God’s character—steadfast and unchanging. It serves as the bedrock of our integrity, calling us to not only be truthful but to love the truth deeply.
Psalms 25:5
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
2 John 1:4
I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
Proverbs 23:23
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
