Proverbs 15:25
Proverbs 15:25
The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
arrogance, pride leads to destruction, and this is clearly demonstrated in how God deals with the proud. The Lord tears down the house of the proud, but He maintains the boundaries of the widow. This is a powerful image of God’s justice. The proud are often consumed with their own sense of importance, believing that they can do as they please without consequence. But God’s justice is firm, and He does not allow the proud to thrive. In contrast, the Lord has a special heart for the vulnerable, such as the widow, and He ensures their protection. This verse speaks to the fact that God’s justice is not just about punishment for wrongdoing, but also about providing for the marginalized. His protection is given to those who may have no other defender, while He humbles the proud. This reminds us of the importance of humility, as those who walk in arrogance, pride are subject to God’s judgment, while those who are humble and lowly before Him will experience His care and justice.
