"As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered." Perseverance is a key virtue in the Christian life, and this verse speaks to the blessing that comes from enduring trials with faith and patience. Birthdays offer a natural time for reflection on the challenges we’ve faced and the ways in which we have persevered. It’s a moment to thank God for the strength He has given us to overcome obstacles and to acknowledge that perseverance has shaped our character. The process of growing older and wiser often involves enduring hardships, but each trial faced with faith is a testimony to God’s faithfulness and grace. This verse assures us that those who persevere through life’s difficulties are counted as blessed. The blessings are not just in the outcome of our struggles but in the strength, growth, and faith that emerge as a result. Birthdays are a chance to reflect on the perseverance that has brought us to this point in life and to express gratitude for the ways God has sustained us. It’s also an opportunity to encourage others to persevere, knowing that the reward for faithful endurance is great.
