Proverbs 19:17
Proverbs 19:17
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Lending to those in need is more than a charitable act; it’s an opportunity to connect with God’s heart and participate in His compassion. This verse encourages us to see lending as an act of worship, a moment when our kindness reflects God’s own generosity. When we open our hearts to help others, especially the poor, we show reverence for the Lord and trust that He will reward our faithfulness. Lending to the poor is a profound form of love, acknowledging that we are merely stewards of God’s blessings and that all we have ultimately belongs to Him. By acting with compassion and generosity, we align ourselves with God’s character, experiencing the joy of being His hands and feet on earth. Our willingness to give back what He has blessed us with is a testimony to His provision, as He promises to repay us in His perfect way. When we lend with a heart full of grace, we reflect God’s boundless love, and through our actions, we affirm our faith in His promise to supply all we need.
