Proverbs 19:26
Proverbs 19:26
He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.
Wasteful behavior that disregards parents’ sacrifices is a source of shame and reproach. Parents invest in their children, providing for their needs and guiding them with love. To waste this support is to bring dishonor upon the family. Honoring parents means recognizing their sacrifices, appreciating their role, and showing gratitude through respect and obedience. This respect reinforces family values, teaching each member the importance of contributing to family unity. By valuing our parents, we uphold a tradition of respect that brings pride, not shame, to the family. This respect enriches our lives, reminding us of the strength that comes from a united family.

And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
