Proverbs 24:1
Proverbs 24:1
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.
To live a life of peace, we must first resist the temptation of envy. Envy can bring strife and division into our lives, causing us to focus on what others have instead of appreciating the blessings that God has given us. Wisdom teaches us that envy only breeds confusion and evil. Instead of letting envy take root, we should choose to embrace peace and contentment in our hearts. The wisdom of God shows us that true satisfaction does not come from what we possess, but from a heart aligned with His will. By focusing on His goodness and trusting in His plans, we can cultivate a heart free from envy. This peace will not only guard our hearts but also bring unity to our relationships. When we choose peace over strife, we reflect God’s love and wisdom, bringing light into the darkness of a world plagued by comparison and competition.
Proverbs 14:30
A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.
1 Corinthians 3:3
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
Galatians 5:26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
James 4:5
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
