Proverbs 25:18
Proverbs 25:18
A man that beareth false witness against his neighbour is a maul, and a sword, and a sharp arrow.
The consequences of bearing false witness are severe. Not only does it break the commandments of God, but it also brings destruction and violence into our relationships. When we falsely accuse someone or spread lies, we are engaging in actions that are destructive to both individuals and communities. The Bible warns us that such behavior invites judgment and destruction. On the other hand, speaking the truth leads to peace and reconciliation. As believers, we are called to be ministers of reconciliation, using our words to bring healing, restoration, and truth. It is essential to recognize the power of our words and the responsibility we have to use them wisely, honoring God by speaking truth in love.
