Proverbs 26:12
Proverbs 26:12
Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
Wisdom in one’s own eyes is a dangerous trap. When we think we know it all and become arrogance, prideful, we close ourselves off from growth, understanding, and learning. arrogance, pride in our own wisdom leads to foolishness because it blinds us to our own limitations. Those who are wise in their own eyes believe that they have reached a place where further learning or correction is unnecessary. However, true wisdom comes from humility, recognizing that we are constantly in need of God’s guidance. The Bible teaches us that there is more hope for a fool than for someone who is consumed by their own wisdom. This is a stark warning against the dangers of arrogance, pride. A fool, even though lacking understanding, still has the opportunity to learn and grow. But a person who is wise in their own eyes, having no humility to admit their faults, is unable to receive correction or wisdom from others, which prevents them from growing spiritually and emotionally. True wisdom is grounded in humility, and as we walk humbly before God, He reveals deeper understanding to us.
Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Daniel 4:37
Those who walk in arrogance, pride he is able to humble.
Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.
Psalm 138:6
Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
