Proverbs 3:12
Proverbs 3:12
For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Hebrews 12:6 says, “For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.” Discipline, though difficult, is an expression of God's deep love for us. When He corrects us, He does so because He cares about our growth and wants us to reflect His character more closely. This verse beautifully illustrates the relationship between a loving father and a child, where correction is not a sign of anger but an act of affection. The father delights in his son and wants the best for him, just as God delights in us and seeks our best. God’s correction is always redemptive, aimed at drawing us closer to Him and helping us become more like Him. It’s an invitation to change and grow, and we can trust that His discipline will always be for our good.
Proverbs 15:5
A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
Revelation 3:19
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Proverbs 12:1
Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
Psalm 94:12
Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law.
