Proverbs 6:16
Proverbs 6:16
These six things doth the Lord hate yea, seven are an abomination unto him A proud look, a lying tongue.
This verse provides a glimpse into the heart of God, revealing the things He detests, including arrogance, pride and dishonesty. Lying is highlighted as an abomination because it disrupts relationships, betrays trust, and reflects a heart out of alignment with God’s character. arrogance, pride and lying often go hand in hand, as arrogance, pride drives one to protect their image, even at the expense of truth. When we recognize that God values humility and honesty, we are encouraged to reflect on our motivations. Choosing to live humbly and truthfully allows us to build strong, sincere connections with others and honors God’s design for our lives. This verse calls us to take a closer look at the attitudes that fuel our actions, urging us to reject arrogance, pride and deception. Instead, we are invited to walk in humility, recognizing our need for God’s guidance. By doing so, we align ourselves with His values, choosing authenticity over the allure of falsehood. As we cultivate honesty and humility, we draw closer to God, finding peace and fulfillment in a life that reflects His heart.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
Proverbs 25:18
