Proverbs 6:20
Proverbs 6:20
My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother.
The wisdom imparted by parents is invaluable to the lives of children. Proverbs teaches the importance of children obeying their father’s command and not forsaking their mother’s teaching. The role of fathers and mothers in shaping their children’s character cannot be overstated. When parents provide a foundation of wisdom, instruction, and love, it equips children with the tools they need to succeed in life. Wisdom is not just academic knowledge but the ability to make godly choices in every situation. This is why it is essential for fathers to teach their children the ways of the Lord, guiding them in righteousness and truth. The home is the first classroom for children, and parents are their first teachers. The teachings of the parents will stick with children, providing them with a moral compass for life. Fathers and mothers are called to be diligent in this task, knowing that their children’s future depends on the guidance and wisdom they receive from them.
