Proverbs 9:10
Proverbs 9:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” True wisdom begins with reverence for God. The “fear of the LORD” is not a fear of punishment but a deep respect and awe for His holiness, majesty, and authority. This kind of fear acknowledges that God is the source of all wisdom, and it leads to a deeper understanding of His will. The more we know about God—His character, His ways, His Word—the more wisdom we gain. This knowledge leads us to make choices that align with His truth and purpose for our lives. Wisdom starts with a heart that honors God above all, trusting Him as the source of all understanding and guidance.

Proverbs 12:15
The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
