Psalm 106:1
Psalm 106:1
Praise ye the Lord. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
This verse begins with a powerful declaration: “Praise the Lord,” followed by a call to give thanks for His goodness and enduring love. God’s goodness is foundational to our gratitude, as it reminds us that He is always faithful, even when we are not. His love endures forever, and it is this steadfast love that sustains us through every season of life. Thanksgiving is an appropriate response to the knowledge that God’s love never changes—it is unconditional and eternal. The psalmist calls the people to praise God not just for what He has done but for who He is. His goodness is demonstrated in His love, and it is this love that motivates our hearts to give thanks. When we recognize God's unwavering goodness and His faithful love, our hearts are filled with praise, and thanksgiving becomes the natural response to His greatness.
