Psalm 111:10
Psalm 111:10
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments.
Reverence for God is the foundation of true wisdom. This verse reveals that fearing the Lord—holding Him in awe and respect—is the starting point of understanding. This fear is not about being afraid but about recognizing His majesty, His power, and His holiness. When we approach God with this reverence, our hearts are opened to receive His wisdom, for we acknowledge that He is the source of all truth. This fear motivates us to live in obedience to His commandments, understanding that His ways are perfect and designed for our well-being. This reverence transforms our lives, guiding us to make choices that honor Him and reflect His love. As we grow in our understanding of God, we are led to a deeper faith, a stronger commitment to His Word, and a desire to live righteously. Embracing this fear is the first step in a journey that leads to greater wisdom, peace, and fulfillment, as we learn to align our lives with His will. This wisdom becomes a light, guiding us through life’s challenges and drawing us closer to His heart.
1 Peter 5:5
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Romans 13:7
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
1 Peter 2:17
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
1 Thessalonians 4:9
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
