Psalm 118:8
Psalm 118:8
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.
In times of difficulty, it is tempting to rely on human wisdom or strength. However, the psalmist reminds us that trusting in human resources is ultimately insufficient. Trusting in God is far superior because He is eternal, all-knowing, and all-powerful. While humans are limited and fallible, God’s wisdom and strength are infinite. Taking refuge in the Lord means finding safety in His unshakable nature, not in the transient solutions offered by the world. God’s guidance is always perfect, and His protection is certain. Trusting in Him is a reminder that He alone is our ultimate source of hope and security. This verse challenges us to shift our reliance from human wisdom to divine wisdom, recognizing that true peace comes from trusting in God alone, who never changes and is always faithful.
