Psalm 119:37
Psalm 119:37
Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things; and give me life in your ways.
Focusing on what truly matters is a spiritual discipline that draws us closer to God. This verse encourages us to turn away from worthless distractions, things that pull us away from a life centered on His truth and purpose. Looking at worthless things—whether they be material possessions, fleeting pleasures, or harmful influences—can dull our spiritual sensitivity, making it harder to discern God’s voice. By asking God to guide our focus, we invite Him to cleanse our desires, aligning our heart and mind with His will. This focus is about finding life in His ways, seeking fulfillment and purpose in a path illuminated by His truth. Turning our eyes from vanity and earthly distractions fosters a life of purity, discipline, and strength. It is a journey of setting priorities, letting go of what does not serve our growth, and embracing His guidance fully. As we seek life in His ways, we find ourselves transformed, gaining the strength and wisdom to walk in His light and to reflect His love in all we do.
Ephesians 6:11
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
James 1:13
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:14
Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.
