Psalm 121:5
Psalm 121:5
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The Lord’s protection is beautifully illustrated in this verse, where He is described as our shade at our right hand—an image of constant, dependable shelter. In biblical times, the right hand was seen as the position of strength, and God’s role as our shade at the right hand means He is there to defend and protect us. The Lord is our protector, offering us comfort and strength in times of need. When we feel alone or vulnerable, His presence is a constant source of security, shielding us from harm. This verse speaks to the assurance that God is always with us, providing refuge and protection. His nearness is not just a theoretical concept, but an active, protective force in our lives, guarding us from danger and giving us peace in the midst of fear.
Isaiah 43:2
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 27:10
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
