Psalm 146:9
Psalm 146:9
The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
God’s watchful care extends to the sojourner, widow, and fatherless, offering protection and compassion to those who are often overlooked. This verse illustrates God’s commitment to protecting those who lack stability, family, or support. The “sojourners” are foreigners or travelers who may not have a place of belonging, while widows and fatherless children are similarly vulnerable. God’s promise to uphold them reveals His love for the marginalized and His call for us to do the same. This verse invites us to extend compassion to those on the fringes, mirroring God’s inclusive and caring nature. Let us be inspired to offer help and companionship to those who feel alone or unsupported, whether they are newcomers, widows, or orphans. May we reflect God’s love in our actions, ensuring that His care reaches all who need it. By upholding the vulnerable, we participate in God’s mission of compassion, bringing His presence into the lives of those who are often forgotten.

Deuteronomy 24:17
You shall not pervert the justice due to the sojourner or to the fatherless, or take a widow's garment in pledge.
Psalm 41:1
Blessed are those who consider the poor; the Lord will deliver them in times of trouble.
