Psalm 34:11
Psalm 34:11
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
“Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” This verse speaks to the role of parents, teachers, and spiritual leaders in guiding children in the way of the Lord. The “fear of the Lord” is not about being scared but about having a reverential respect and awe for God. It is the foundation of wisdom and the key to living a righteous life. As adults, it is our responsibility to impart this wisdom to the next generation. We must teach them not only through words but through our example, showing them how to live with integrity, humility, and love for others. By instilling in them a fear of the Lord, we help them build a solid foundation for life. This verse reminds us that teaching children to honor and respect God is the most important thing we can do as their mentors and guides.
