Psalm 40:1
Psalm 40:1
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
Waiting on the Lord is a journey of trust and surrender, where we learn to let go of control and place our hopes in God’s hands. This patience is not easy; it requires faith that God hears our cries and will respond in His perfect timing. Worship becomes a time of communion, where we pour out our hearts to God, trusting that He inclines His ear to our prayers. This waiting shapes our character, teaching us to rely on God’s strength rather than our own. As we wait, we grow in faith, knowing that God’s response will come in a way that is for our good. This patience transforms our outlook, allowing us to find peace in the process rather than in immediate answers. By waiting patiently, we declare our trust in God’s love, showing others that true peace comes from surrendering our desires to Him. Through this, we become examples of faith, showing that God is faithful to those who wait on Him with hope and expectation.
Luke 11:11
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
James 5:7
Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receives the early and latter rain.
Ecclesiastes 7:8
Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
2 Peter 3:8
But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
