Romans 13:14
Romans 13:14
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
Putting on the Lord Jesus Christ involves more than just professing His name—it means adopting His character, values, and priorities. When we make no provision for the flesh, we actively choose to live in a way that honors God, rejecting sin and temptation. This requires faith in Jesus’ work on the cross and a commitment to live according to His Word. We cannot live in both the world and the ways of God; we must choose to follow Christ fully. This involves a daily decision to die to our sinful desires and to live for the glory of God. By doing so, we make no room for sin’s influence and instead focus on living in obedience to Christ, who empowers us to live holy lives.
1 Corinthians 6:13
Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
Exodus 20:17
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Psalm 119:9
How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.
