Matthew 6:25

Worry is a temptation we all face. We worry about what might happen, and we worry about what might not happen. It doesn't matter if it's big or small, important or irrelevant. We tend to worry about everything. However, that's not what God calls us to do. In this verse, Jesus urges the people of God to stop worrying about what they will eat, drink, or wear. These are basic necessities that may cause us to worry if we do not have them. However, Jesus emphasizes that life is more than just what we eat or wear; God has purposes in store for us far beyond these temporary details. He wants us to know that we are of ultimate value to our Father, so we can trust Him for the basics and shouldn't be overly troubled with the basic needs of our lives. By sending His Son to redeem us, God declares our ultimate value. Our heavenly Father knows everything that we need, and He will provide. All we need to do is believe and pursue His kingdom and righteousness. When we do that, the necessities will fall into place.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for blessing me with all the things that I have in my life. Thank You for loving us so much that You gave us Your one and only Son. I confess that I am often distracted by the material things in my life that I forget what is really important. I lay my worries at your feet, Father. There is nothing I need to worry about with You on my side. Please align my heart with Yours as I seek Your will, and give me courage to live the life You have called me to live. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
