10 mins a day, closer to God.
In the previous verse, Jesus is mentioned as being willing to suffer for the sake of future joy. The attitude of Jesus towards suffering is of particular importance. As a matter of fact, His persecution is significant. But in this context, it is more significant that Jesus saw those hardships as being part of God's plan, a plan for Jesus' own benefit. When faced with our own trials, we should adopt the same approach that the writer suggests. This is an exhortation to recall those great men and women of faith who persevered in their faith in spite of the sufferings and pains they had to endure. In light of this, we are encouraged to look to the Lord Jesus to consider His suffering at the hands of sinful man as well as the hostility he endured. Throughout His life, Jesus lived a life of total dependence on God, the way God expects us all to live. As Christians, we are called to contemplate the Cross and the sin that Jesus endured for us. Our hearts are exhorted to consider Him Who walked, in spirit and truth, in humble obedience to the Father. By considering Jesus' example, we will gain strength and encouragement not to become weary but instead follow His example of a life lived in utter dependence upon God.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for pointing us to Jesus' example - His life, His death, His resurrection, His exaltation, and His intercession. Despite bitter hostility and grievous opposition, He lives a life of total dependency and willing obedience. When I look to Jesus, I pray that I do not grow weary or lose heart in the difficult circumstances. Instead, I will simply look to Him as a source of strength and encouragement. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
