10 mins a day, closer to God.
You are the company you keep. This is a well-known summary of Solomon's true warning. You may be wise, but foolish friends will eventually destroy you. Even if you are foolish, wise friends will teach you to succeed. Who you walk with, associate with, and take advice from makes a big difference in your life. Having wise people around us is important, and even more so is remembering that such wisdom is not based on the world's standards. It is according to God and His Word. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God (Proverbs 9:10), so we want to walk with people who fear God, follow God, worship God, and live according to His Word. If you struggle with the temptation to sin in a particular area, avoid spending too much time with friends who struggle with the same problem. If you have to pull yourself away from God to fit in with your friends, you may not share the same values. It can be hard to say no to bad friendships and relationships, but your future is worth more than a bad relationship. Don't hold up your future for things that are not worth it. Take a close look at your relationships today and ask God for wise and godly friends. Keep close relationships with those who challenge you to be better, get closer to God, and distance yourself from foolishness. Keep your eyes and heart fixed on the Lord, for He is the wisest of all.
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You will bless me with the wisdom to tell who is wise and who is foolish around me. Help me to learn from the wise and guard me from the foolish. Thanks for giving us Your Word, the Bible, through which we can learn directly from You. As I dwell in Your Words, I pray that You will give me wisdom to point people to You and the truth in Your Word. May I always be a positive influence on my family, my friends, and everyone I come into contact with, and do what is righteous in Your eyes. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Proverbs 2:6
For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord.
Psalms 111:10
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
