10 mins a day, closer to God.
In the first verse of this Psalm, a rhetorical question is posed. It is absurd to believe that one can overpower, undermine, or escape God's will. The psalmist is shocked to discover that so many people, cultures, and nations share the same evil intent. Clearly, their intentions are in vain and destined to fail. The power of sinful mankind cannot defeat the might and wisdom of God. We read that these foolish and prideful people plot to break away from their Creator God's sovereign rule. The objective of these people is to become independent of His purposes and plans. However, God holds these people in derision, and His original purpose for man to rule the earth has not been rescinded. In spite of the fallen nature of man, God continues to be patient and willing for all to come to faith in Christ Jesus rather than perish. The gospel of grace has been preached throughout the world for almost 2000 years. The invitation to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ is being given free of charge to all who will accept it by faith for salvation and life.
Dear Heavenly Father, there are many people, nations, and leaders conspiring against You and Jesus Christ. It appears that the world is spiraling out of control. Thank You for telling us from the beginning that we are safe and secure under Your loving care. You have blessed us with Your Word that stands fast forever and reminds us that a day is coming when Christ will rule this earth with equity and justice. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
