We all want to live abundant lives, but how can we do that? To answer it, we must begin with the more important question: What, or who is the source of abundant life? Jesus tells us in this verse, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” Chasing anything other than Jesus will steal your blessings, kill your dreams, and destroy your purpose in life. Only Jesus can restore the blessings that have been stolen, bring life to dreams that have died, and give our lives purpose. Things come and go, as do the pleasures they bring. The only way to experience everlasting joy is to have something that cannot fail. So, the only way to live an abundant life is through Jesus, who never fails. A life apart from Jesus will always leave you lacking, but a life centered on Jesus is full of abundance. Don't let evil steal your heart. Give your whole heart to the Lord, and He will give you a rich and satisfying life.
Dear Heavenly Father, thanks for sacrificing Your one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay for the price of my sins so that I can live this abundant life free of guilt, free of shame, and free of condemnation. Keep me close to You at all times, and protect me from all the thieves who would steal my blessings away from me. May You continue to bless me in all areas of my life as I place my faith and trust in You alone. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
