All of us are created by God to follow a dream that He has designed for us to fulfill. Moses was called by God to bring the Israelites out of Egypt and to the Promised Land. In Esther’s story, we see the power of speech being used to change the course of history. Apostle Paul was called by God to expand the Lord's kingdom person by person, town by town, country by country. Each one of us is also created with our own unique "vocation," a calling from God. Being a Christian doesn't mean we get to act or do whatever we want to do. How we walk in life is our response to all that God has done for us. Our identity has been changed by God's grace. Now that you have been released from the prison of sins, you are called to something that is holy and extraordinary. Walk worthy of it! Paul begins his message with "I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord." Why does Paul emphasize his imprisonment for Christ at this time? Walking is not easy and can be costly, but it will be so worth it in the end. As we do our part to fully engage in what gives us purpose and meaning, the world around us is changed for the better. No matter where we are in our lives, God wants to work through us to make a difference. Let’s not shy away from that high calling but instead pursue it with all determination and joy!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the talents that You've given me. Help me be confident in my own identity and not jealous of others because You have provided me with everything I need. As I am exploring what You are asking of me, I pray that You will provide me with guidance, wisdom, and patience. Let me serve You faithfully in every situation, Lord, no matter what it is. Help me to stay focused on You and to rely on You at all times. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
2 Thessalonians 2:14
Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;).
Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
Psalms 40:2
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
