Inspiration
If you've moved around, you know the struggle of deciding what to keep and what to throw away. The most difficult part of starting a new chapter of one's life isn't embracing what is new but deciding what to do with the old things that we have.
When it comes to God, there are no hesitations or blurred boundaries. When God sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to die for our sins, the price was paid in full for us all. His finished work on the Cross fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the law on our behalf, releasing us from the power of sin. He doesn't just save us from one area of our lives and leave us enslaved to sin in another. Our old self has been crucified with Him, and we have been created brand-new in Jesus Christ from the inside out.
What an amazing piece of news that we are no longer enslaved to sin! If you feel trapped by your sins, you are not hopeless. Because of what Jesus Christ has done for us, the body of sin can be brought to nothing. Believe that you have been given the power of His Spirit to live a holy, righteous life that honors the Lord! Nothing can hold you back!
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sacrificing Your Son to pay for my sins. When I am under the attack of Satan, please help me to keep my focus on You and reassure me that I am no longer under his control. Give me strength to fight against my sinful nature and empower me with Your Spirit so that I will never give up. May Your loving grace be poured out on me in all areas of my life.
In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
