The Bible is not just another book. It is the living Word of God. You can go from sad to happy, from sick to well, by simply allowing God's Word to enter your heart. It is powerful, flawless, pure, and everlasting. Some people view God’s Word as just a list of rules, but the truth is that God’s instructions to us serve a protective purpose: He is the shield to those who put their trust in Him. Through His Word, He teaches us the truth and protects us from lies. He gives us instructions to live a righteous life on earth so we can enjoy the eternal life to come. His faithfulness and love for His people are displayed throughout the Bible so we can have hope. In His Word, we can find everything we need. God designed us to function in a certain way, and God’s Word helps us stay on the road we are designed for. Sometimes, we are tempted to believe that God’s way is boring or that by following God’s laws, we are missing out. But God’s law is a shield to us, and a shield only works if you get behind it. Understanding the message of the Bible is not enough; we must be willing to change our lives and follow it. When we do, we will experience the joy of living as He intended us to.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us the Bible. Without it, we will be so lost in this world. Help me to prioritize my time with You and meditate on Your Word daily. Protect me from all harm, whether it is physical, mental, or emotional. Help me to see the truths in Your Word and share them with those who do not know You. I pray that You will give me the strength to resist temptations and remind me of your commandments. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
