10 mins a day, closer to God.
If you’ve ever tried to have a New Year’s resolution or two, you know that they’re extremely difficult to keep. Maybe you’ll keep it going for a few days or even a few weeks, but most of the time, they fall away and don’t become a true part of your habits. However, this is not the case when it comes to your life in Jesus Christ. When you are born again by the power of God through the blood of His Son, it is not just a small life change that could fall away in a few weeks. Instead, it is a complete identity shift that causes you to now find your identity in the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope that it brings. Because of God's abundant mercy, we have a lively hope that will never fade and can last forever. If you are walking into a new year without your identity being found in the hope of Jesus' resurrection, now is the time to change that. When you have this eternal hope that is found in Him, life takes on a completely different light. You can begin living for eternity rather than for the here and now. What are you waiting for? Make this next year a year of purpose and hope in Jesus Christ!
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving up Your Son so that I can have eternal life. Thank You for the work that He did on the cross, and thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit who empowers me and guides me to live for Your glory here on earth. Lord, give me the strength and the wisdom to be able to live a life that glorifies You. This next year, help me to keep Your eternal hope in my thoughts at all times and to incline my heart to Yours. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Romans 15:13
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
1 Corinthians 15:19
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Psalms 39:7
And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
Psalm 39:7
And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you.
