10 mins a day, closer to God.
One of the most difficult things to do as people is to forget the past, especially the unpleasant things we've experienced. We spend most of our time sitting and ruminating on lost opportunities, broken relationships, past mistakes and actions, and inactions that have caused us embarrassment, pain, and regret. Therefore, our hearts experience fresh pain over and over again from incidents that happened a few days, weeks, months, or even years ago. Our eyes become blind to the present blessings, grace, and opportunities God has prepared and put before us. The burden of the past becomes heavy on us, limiting our progress, wearing us out, and stealing our joy. God's Word tells you today to forget the past. He wants you to shift your gaze away from your worries and unpleasant experiences and focus on Him alone. He says His mercies are new every morning and His compassion never fails. He has prepared new doors of opportunities before you that will restore your joy, peace of mind, and all the years the cankerworm has eaten. However, you must be intentional about shutting the door of your heart and memory against the weight of the past that is not serving you in the present and will hinder your future. Create room for newness in your heart. God is doing a new thing in your life; embrace it.
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your plans towards me are not to harm me but to give me hope and a future. Therefore, I ask for the grace to align myself with Your glorious plans for my life. Help me to forget the past and focus on Your present blessings and future promises. Heal my heart from the pain and heartbreak draining me physically, emotionally, and mentally. Teach me to count my blessings, not my loss. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
1 Corinthians 15:53
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Ephesians 4:24
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
